Another take on the popular brass brush holder that cleans the nozzle on a Prusa XL every time it is parked or unparked. Snaps onto the frame (no mounting hardware needed), holding it securely in place but allowing for easy removal for cleaning or to replace the brush. Has an integrated basket for catching debris.
Accepts any brush with a 1/8 in (3 mm) shank, such as the following:
- Dremel part number 536-02. Available from a wide variety of sources; I got mine at a local Lowes. The hole for the shank is a friction fit for this brush, so it can be adjusted to the correct height and no set screw is needed. Shown on the left in the cover photo.
- Amazon lists a brush from Chinese manufacturer. This has a slightly smaller shank so a 3x10 mm (or 3 mm grub screw) is needed to hold the brush in the correct position once adjusted to the desired height. Shown on the right in the cover photo.
- McMaster-Carr part number 4792A41. Appears to be very similar to the Dremel part. Will update this page when I have tried it.
Prints in about 30 min with no supports if oriented on its side (brim recommended). PETG is ideal because it’s a bit more springy, but PLA works too. I printed it with all perimeters.
