Larger versions with proper scaling, wall thickness is preserved : 11cm 12cm 14cm

Features:

  • Rectangular Design - more room for plants.
  • Designed in parts - minimal filament waste even for multicolor version
  • Top - covers the messy areas of planters, edges, and provides always nice top
  • Selfwatering - gives the simplest way of maintenance and optimal water saturation
  • Floaty - optional but a nice way of avoiding overflow
  • Fuzzy Skin - nicer look, it looks even better in wood PLA.
  • Separate Bottom - less filament waste and an easy way of pushing a plant out to replace it or change soil.

All parts, except legs, can be assembled without any glue.
You may mark the floaty stick for an exact water level you want to stop. Do so before planting any plant in it. The floaty starts moving after some level due to its weight, so the stick does not represent the exact level.

Assembly steps:

  1. Glue Legs if you want them.
  2. Put Top on Insert, align them and push Top by pressing along the perrimeter. It is tight, no glue is needed.
  3. Insert Bottom into Insert.
  4. Insert Insert into Outer then remove it. Repeat this pushing to sides to sand down seams which create extra friction. You most likely want to  be able to disassemble it in future.
  5. Remove Insert from Outer to avoid getting dirt into fuzzy skin.
  6. Plant a beatiful plant.
  7. Insert Floaty into Insert.
  8. Insert Insert into Outer.
  9. Enjoy!!!

Files SelfWateringPot-...-10cm-unconfigured.3mf are for parts without slicer configurations like: skin, filling, ironing.
Files SelfWateringPot-...-10cm-AK1S.3mf are for parts with ORCA slicer configurations like: skin, filling, ironing, for Anycubic Kobra 1S in order to get what is on photos. I am sure you can use them for other printers too. Pot parts are split into 3D parts in order to have fuzzy skin only on proper surfaces. Unfortunatelly the online viewer fails to show them in browser.

No gcode files, the site does not accept my files due to some unsupported command.

Parts specific configurations:

  • Outer, Insert
    • consist of several 3D parts, in order to have fuzzy skin
    • fuzzy skin:
      • point distance - 0.8mm
      • thickness - 0.3mm
    • no support
    • random seam position
    • up side down placement for Insert.
  •  Top
    • consist of several 3D parts, in order to have fuzzy skin
    • fuzzy skin:
      • point distance - 0.8mm
      • thickness - 0.3mm
    • support
    • random seam position
    • ironing for top most surface
    • normal placement position to have the visible side ironed
  • Bottom
    • support
    • upside down placement
  • Floaty
    • support
    • filling 0%
    • concentric surface pattern
    • wall, top, bottom layers - 2, to have it light
    • placement on a side, to minimize friction when it floats
