Remix of the desiccant container lid from GunplaMark's original filament dry box system.

I wanted to make some alterations to the original model, but it was only provided as an STL, so I decided to just re-create it from scratch. In addition to being available as a STEP, the remix model includes the following minor changes:

  • Added a more aggressive taper to the “threads” so that there's more friction holding the desiccant container on. The original didn't stay on very securely (although I haven't actually had it fall off in normal use).
  • Increased the height of the top part so it sits more flush with the cereal container lid. This way the containers are less wobbly when stacked. However, they still don't stack that well, so be careful.
  • Very slightly increased the diameter of the ring part so it seals a bit tighter. To be honest this makes almost no difference, my printer was just under-sizing it and it made me feel better. I've provided it with the original diameter as well if you're happy with that.
  • Adjusted the accent lines on the top so they don't sag as much with PETG.
  • Increased the radius of the finger depressions so it's easier to get leverage.

The only other thing you need (besides a cereal container and desiccant) is a compatible desiccant container, either the original or one of its remixes. I like this remix by Alexander Pfisterer. You don't need any other parts from the dry box system. Most lid+container combinations should work whether you use the cereal containers right side up or up side down.

Print flat side down with 0.2mm layer height for best results.

The example in the photos was printed in Bambu PETG HF (Lime Green). Pictured with desiccant container (linked above) printed in Overture PETG (Transparent).
