Modular sliding shelves for 294mm IKEA Alex drawers. Build any size grid you would like and place down your preferred Gridfinity baseplate.
Baseplate can be secured with lipped undercarriage segments to prevent Y axis movement, or with a panel that will lock all movement by securing into a Gridfinity square.
Lipped carriages are 2mm wider at 44mm to wrap around the baseplate. Non lipped carriages are 42mm for perfect grid alignment but will require some additional securing with the included frame lock.
Frame locks can be used to add a handle (different options may be designed later) with an M6 bolt, or using a 1U (7mm) tall adapter to place a slightly shallower bin.
Quick assembly video can be found here:
The bridges (X axis pieces) included are 294mm. but can be slide apart to be slightly wider if required. If you find yourself doing this and would like to place an undercarriage on a section that only has half of the bridge available, there are spacers included that can fill the missing space.
I currently have not done any strength testing for extending the bridge like this so use caution if you decide to try it. Pieces have been added that allow a 6mm threaded rod to be inserted across the length of the shelf for stability, but they have not been tested.
Please note: I am not an engineer and this is the first time i have made anything of this nature, so there could be stupid mistakes that should not be there, or just better solutions in general.
