Instructions for Achieving a Crystal Clear Glass-Like PETG Print
Dry the Filament
Dry your PETG filament for at least 6 hours before printing. For best results, use a conventional oven at its lowest temperature setting—typically around 170°F (77°C).
Recommended Filament
I recommend using Overture Transparent PETG (Clear) for the best clarity and results.
Print File Setup
Open the .3mf file using Orca Slicer and select your printer. The file is preconfigured for the Bambu Lab P1P.
Print Surface & Fine-Tuning
Print on a glass or glass-like surface to achieve a mirror finish and true glass effect.
The diamond has been custom cut into several sections using the glass method found here: https://www.printables.com/model/1278125-how-to-print-glass-with-orca-3mf
If you notice microbubbles (clouding) in the center of the print or a build up on the outer surface, adjust the flow rate by ±/-0.05 between 1.01 & 2.01 until the result is crystal clear. Its important to note that Both too much and too little flow can cause microbubbles (clouding).
Note: The .3mf files are calibrated for my P1P. Because each printer may vary slightly, you may need to make individual adjustments to achieve the same results.
