This video showcases a collection of DIY 3D printable designs (including the items below) for the FLEXISPOT E6 MAX Dual Motor Standing Desk standing desk.  

 

These solutions help to tidy up messy cables and create a more professional and organized workspace for your standing desk. 

The 3d printed parts include: 

  • Laptop mount that I am using with a Macbook pro and allows it to move up and down with the desk.  This should work with any laptop that is 18mm thick or less.
  • A desktop computer stand that mounts to the standup desk leg which allows the desktop PC to move with the desk top.  The PC case should probably by 250mm wide and the majority of the mass should be supported with 250mm depth.  Ideally between the PC's rubber feet.
  • Surge protector mounts. 
  • HD drive mounts.

Directions:

The desktop and laptop mount each require 4 M5 screws, nuts and washers.  Each also require 2 leg mounts.

Warning! I have been using these for some time and they are sturdy, but please test before using and protect these stands from excessive weight.  I'm not liable for any smashed PCs or laptops!

These prints need to be very strong!  

I used ABS.  Consider ASA if they will be in the direct sunlight.  PETG is an option as well. PLA might have issues with the heat generated by the electronics, especially the laptop depending on where the laptop's hot exhaust exits.  Print these parts slow and hot.  Use the maximum recommended temperature on the filament spool with minimal cooling to get the best layer adhesion possible.  Use 5 or more perimeters as well as top and bottom.  Choose more layers vs infill.

When inserting the nuts into the leg mounts, screw in the M5 screw with the washer from the flat side.  Once it appears on the nut holding side, attach the nut and slowly tighten the bolt all the way until the nut is pulled through the opening and seated into it's final position.  The tolerances are very tight as I wanted the nuts to hold all by themselves. I also wanted to use it as a test to be sure the layers have adhered properly.  If the 3d part separates, modify in your slicer to slow down more, print hotter or possibly lower cooling.  If no matter what you try the layers still split, let me know and I will try to modify the strap design to provide a little more clearance for the nut. 

Once mounted to the desk leg, use something that weighs at least as much as your desktop pc and / or your laptop to test and make sure everything is secure and the print will support the weight.
