Base Trim for Deck Post

I created this three years ago when it became impossible to ignore the crumbling base trim of my vinyl deck rails. 

I wanted a replacement for these (Veranda 4in x 4in White New England Base Trim) that I could install without disassembling the entire deck rail, but would still have a smooth finish and do a decent job of weathering a New England winter.

This Deck Foot base trim has an easy, generous snap fit that reaches around the deck rail so that it can be installed in seconds without removing the railing or post cap. 

I have had these now for three winters, and not only do they look better than the originals, they have proven to be more sturdy against weather, frost, and the occasional collision with a snowblower.

Whenever someone asks me “Is there a practical use for a 3D printer?”, I take ‘em onto my deck to show ’em these ;-)

Easy print - no supports, 15% infill, fits on a Mini+.

To install, just click left trim into right trim.
