🧼 10 MM PET STRIP CLEANER BOX V1 – Minimal Add-On, Maximum Control
"Raise your hand if you love scraping glue off PET strips. 🤢✋
Yeah, me neither. 💩"
That’s why I built the Box Cleaner V1 — and you’re gonna want one too. 🚀
🔁 Modular Workflow Ready
Same footprint and locking system as the PET Trimmer V1 — just slide it in and build your own cleaning chain.
It’s fully compatible with my CORE RAIL V1, the modular backbone that links trimmers, cleaners, and whatever comes next.
No extra adapters. No recalibration. Just insert and go.
🧩 Prefer to mount it freestyle? 🔓
Use two screws and bolt it directly to your workbench.
Either way, you're locked and ready.
🧽 Custom Cleaning Core
Inside, I left room for two strips of any compressible material — sponge, felt, foam, cloth, or whatever you can cut to size.
The PET strip runs between them as it’s pulled by your extruder or winder motor.
Depending on what you insert and what you soak it with, you can:
-scrub dry or wet
-polish with solvents or nail polish
-apply pigment or resin
-dry off moisture
-or just keep dust off
🧠 Each box does one job — and does it well.
🔩 Tuned by Torque
Yes, there’s also space for my integrated press system, which lets you fine-tune how much pressure is applied to the strip as it passes through.
Twist the top, press the sponge, dial in the perfect friction — whether you’re cleaning, polishing, drying, or coloring.
✋ Ergonomic Handle & Injection Port 👁
On top, you’ll find a custom ergonomic handle designed to accept a standard M6 screw after printing.
Once the screw is in place, you can glue the cap marked “10” on top — this both covers the screw head and acts as a clear visual cue for the module’s strip width.
Since this cap is purely aesthetic and not in contact with liquids, it can be safely glued.
-Tighten it to increase pressure on the strip
-Unscrew it to pour in liquids like alcohol, polish, pigment, or resin
-Screw it back in to minimize evaporation and lock in compression
-The internal components below the lid are built to snap together with a clean click — no glue required
🛠 Why? Dude, alcohol and polish are literally made to dissolve glue.
That’s why the internal structure is fully mechanical — clip-fit, tool-free, chemical-proof, and built to last.
⚙ Simple Build, Quick Maintenance
-Plastic hooks on the base let you fasten the lid with rubber bands — quick and tool-free
-Clip-in internal parts — no glue, no tools, no drama
-Open and reload in seconds — perfect for quick swaps or manual strip insertion
-One-piece top + base design for solid, repeatable performance
♻ Zero Waste Thinking
Just like the Trimmer V1, this module is built with zero plastic waste in mind:
-No extra grams of material
-No overbuilt parts
-No unnecessary supports
✂ What about the sponge?
You only need two 22×22 mm rectangles — not a full piece.
Not a gram more.
⏱ Not a minute longer clogging up your printer.
Because your printer should be busy doing cool stuff.
Everything is shaped to minimize print time and material usage — from sponge size to shell thickness.
🧠 Why I Built It – Shake’s Take
I got tired of scrubbing glue and crap off my PET strips every single time.
Every bottle’s got a different attitude — curved bases, sticky labels, weird residues — and I was wasting too much time cleaning by hand. So I said:
Let the motor do the pulling. I’ll just build the brains around it.
Now, the filament spooler motor pulls the PET strip automatically through a line of Box Cleaners — each doing its thing:
-One scrubs
-One polishes
-One dries
-One to apply colors
By the time the strip hits the hot end or the spool, it’s clean and ready.
And if I want to change color, or switch from alcohol to polish, I don’t have to disassemble the whole line — I just slide out one box from my CORE RAIL V1 and swap in the next.
No tools, no recalibration.
Full replacement in under 20 seconds.
No more mess.
No more wasted time.
Just clean, consistent, modular prep.
That’s how it’s supposed to be.
