I designed this "Key Grip" for my children. It was too difficult for them to open the door on their own with their key. By widening the grip and adding a textured surface, they can now do it with ease. Especially in emergency situations, this is a very helpful tool. It can also be very useful for adults with disabilities or older people who may lack the necessary strength.
Example: Cutted View with wedges for round keys
Additionally, the grip looks nice and can be printed in various colors to help quickly identify the key. Unfortunately, there are many different types of front door keys. For now, I’ve designed grips for three different types of front door keys. I’ve also made it possible to create your own custom "Key Grips" using a modifier in the slicer.
Click on object and than on “BLANK”
to move the Grip out of the way.
Click on object and scale the “subtract objects” first in X/Y for your Key form than adjust Z for the thickness. (Deactivate uniform scale).
If you're happy with the modifier, simple hit center on the BLANK “Grip”.
Check if the hole is at a good position. Maybe you have to move the cylinder slightly in Z direction
Happy Printing!😊👍
