Breathe easy while you print! The Core-Scrubber is a sleek, powerful, and easy-to-maintain filtration system designed specifically to be mounted on the back of the Prusa Core One.

This system uses a powerful but quiet 140mm EC blower fan to pull air from the print chamber and pass it through a two-stage filter: first through a thick bed of activated carbon to absorb VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and fumes, and then through a HEPA filter to capture UFP (Ultrafine Particles).

Key Features:

  1. Modular, Easy-Refill Cartridges: Simply unlatch and slide out the cartridges to refill the activated carbon pellets and replace the HEPA filter.

  2. Dual-Stage Filtration: A deep-fill activated carbon chamber for maximum VOC absorption and a separate HEPA filter for particle capture.

  3. Powerful, adjustable airflow: Utilizes a specific 140mm*40mm Radial Fan for high airflow and pressure, ensuring effective filtration without excessive noise.

Activated Carbon Pellets Acid-free, steam-activated pelletized carbon is recommended. You can find this at aquarium supply stores or online. (e.g., "4mm pellet activated carbon").

Printing instructions:

  1. Recommended Material: PETG ABS, or ASA. PETG should be more than enough.
  2. Layer Height: 0.2mm
  3. Supports: Supports are likely needed for some overhangs. Orient the parts on your build plate to minimize support material. The main housing should be printed [suggested orientation, e.g., standing upright or on its back]. If you open the 3mf file as a project, supports should already be in the file.
  4. Perimeters (Walls): 3-4 for good strength, especially around the screw holes.
  5. Infill: 20% Gyroid or Cubic

Assembly Instructions:

This is my first bigger design. The fusion file is a total mess. Nevertheless you can also download it if you want to make any adjustments or use different hepa filters for example.

Some parts are a bit fiddly to install and the heatset inserts have to be inserted very precise.

It took a little bit of my patience to get everything screwed together exactly, but in the end it was well worth it.

Since I have no clue about electronics I bought the fan with an external power supply / fan regulator. You can probably also install it directly onto the core one buddy board with the correct adapter.

Support:

The model itself is - apart from the cost of the hardware and filament you have to use - free of charge. If you want to support me, you can buy me a coffee.

If you want to have different remixes for example for other hepa filters but have no experience with fusion, feel free to leave a comment and I will try to add a remix to the model.
