This is an extension for the valve steam deck dock, it adds a 40mm server fan to the dock to direct air to the intake of the steam deck while it is docked, mine uses a 40mmx40mmx23mm however it can use up to 40mmx40mmx30mm with a tighter fit; mine uses a server fan which provides a good amount of air but is also very loud a better suited option could be a 5v Noctua 40mm:

To power the fan i used a USB hub through one of the USB ports on the dock. I adapted the fan to take USB and added a switch, when choosing a fan it is important to pay attention to the voltage as some are 12v and may not function at the USB ports 5v output however i'm sure there is a way to get a 12v output from the USB port on the dock.

It is designed to be retrofitted to the dock in a non-intrusive way so it just slides around the dock. All the parts are designed to be glued or plastic welded together, they fit together as shown in the assembly. you may need to make a seal between the duct and the intake, i did this with some strong duct tape and it has worked fine without leaks.

The parts of this build are a base plate, a duct and the main structure, you should not need to connect the build to the dock in any permanent way, if you feel it is moving too much between the dock and cooler you can add double sided tape to the bottom of the dock.
