Assembly
- Trim LED strips to fit the length of each track, ensuring at least one end of the trip is cut on the black lines (where the solder contacts are).
- Slice open the black line end of each strip, peel back the flexible outer and solder wires onto each contact. I recommended using solid core wire of different colors to indicate positive and ground (negative). Solid core is easier to solder. If the contacts tear out, you can peel back more of the LED strip and solder onto the next set of contacts.
- Feed the wires through wiring holes and friction fit the LED strips into the tracks. Use hot glue as needed. Some tracks have have 2 holes, choose whichever is more convenient for the next step.
- Solder a female DC jack to one of the strips, matching postive and negative wires. The biggest green track has to holes and I recommend soldering the jack onto the bottom end of the strip and another set of wires to the top where it can connect with the rest of the circuit.
- Solder the wires together in parallel, joining all the positive wires together and all the negative wires together. Use heatshrink on the joints to avoid shorts from positive to ground (negative). With each new connection, I recommend testing by plugging the jack into the power adapter.
- Optionally tape over the wires on the back.
