Drag Chain Ramp for Qidi Plus 4

Updates:

19th June 2025:  I have uploaded a fancier version of the model that more accurately follows the contours of the printer's walls, and provides a curved front to the ramp to give a smoother transition when the drag chain approached the ramp from certain angles.

Introduction

I was frustrated with a number of other models online, so I decided to do it myself :)

This is an easy to print, precisely proportioned and strong cable ramp for the Qidi Plus 4 that prints in an orientation that allows for a smooth ramping action, and is strong.

Also added are countersunk bumps that nestle into the stock Qidi holes and properly supports the mounting screws.

Print in any high temperature tolerant filament with 2 or 3 walls, and 20% rectilinear infill, and also best if using the Classic wall generator as the various angled thin walls can cause Arachne to leave printing artifacts.  Possibly best to avoid coarse fiber composite filaments to reduce any abrasion on the drag chain.

Best mounted with 2 of M3x12mm BHCS with an M3 washer on each screw to better distribute the mounting load.

Print on its end, pointing straight up from the build plate.  This angles the layer lines in the best way to provide for a smooth ramping action.  I made the base of the model a little wider so it should have decent surface area to grip the build plate with.

While the simple model can be printed without supports, for the fancier model, due to it being a little taller, I have added a support point about half-way up to provide a little more stability when printing near the top.  As such, supports will need to be enable for the fancy model.
