Description

I always wanted a regular handbrake for my sim racing experience - it's what I am used to, and it's what feels satisfying! And most of all, I like the feeling of racing in a street legal car.

I never could find a handbrake like this - so I decided that as a maker, I have to fix that - so here we are!

Required hardware:
 1. 8mm diameter steel rod, 100mm - optional, recommended for more authentic feel, but you can print it instead
 2. M3x12mm – x4
 3. M3x16-20mm – x2
 4. M3x6mm Button Head – x5
 4. 4x10mm compression spring - 1x
 5. 4x10-12mm extension spring (you could get away with 5mm diameter possibly) - 2x
 6. AS5600 magnetic encoder - 1x
 7. ESP32-S3 - 1x (technically doesn’t have to be this exact model, it just needs USB HiD capabilities to act as a joystick, also needs to fit in the housing)
 8. 608 bearings - 2x (printed one could work, it needs to not have any wiggle though – I have a perfect printable bearing available for download if you have ten 4.5mm balls)
 9. 4x4mm magnet - 1x (technically you can get away with 4x1-3mm but I just used 4mm)

The assembly is straightforward, the PDF has 3D images with clear instructions.
If enough people ask I will create a full video tutorial, from soldering in wires, flashing the micro controller, assembly, to even creating a leather cover.

Thank you for supporting me by buying this project!
