Straight Talon (compatible) Mag [ 10 / 15 darts ]

--> Horizontal Print
--> shorter feed lips to be compatible with more blasters (e.g. ONTOS and MULTI-TOOL)
--> for Talon Magazine springs (wire springs)

This is a remix of the nice combination mod by Astropulse Sure.t Nerf Mod Talon Mag - Fully Printable - Quick Assemble/Disassemble ← [there you can also find the assembly guide]

Since my Multi-Tool doesn't accept the original shape of the feed lips (with the nice ‘no-supports-angle’),  I modified them to a more rectangular standard shape (these unfortunately need supports). These should be compatible with even more blasters.

So if you have problems with the original horizontal Talon by Astropulse not fitting into some blasters because of the feedlips, then this version is could be the solution.

Horizontal mags slide smoother, get stuck less, and sound quieter when loading/unloading.

A big advantage of this is the print direction of the feed lips, which makes them much more difficult to break when printed horizontally.

This magazine can be assembled and disassembled quickly and easily thanks to Astropulse's ingenious interlocking bottom plate and bottom cap which simply need to be inserted into a rail at the bottom of the magazine.

  • UPDATE 4.7.2025:
Added a version for 15 darts.
The 15-dart magazine is 232 mm long (if I'm not mistaken, it just fits diagonally on a 180x180mm print bed - and that's exactly how I pre-oriented it).

The files are already pre-oriented.

My print settings for PLA:
0,2mm layer height
5 Walls
at least 5 top and bottom shell layers
20% gyroid or cubic infill

Supports needed for the feed lips and the catch notch.
→ Don't use supports wihtin the mag! (use support blocker there)

Thx to Astropulse, Tim O'Brien and thunkar for the files I could use for this remix.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • changed the shape of the feed lips for even better compatibilty with some blasters
  • closed the recess for drum springs
  • shortened the follower in height slightly and created more space between so that a standard Talon spring (wire spring) fits in
  • two small posts were added to the follower so that the spring has a better hold
  • added a screw hole to the follower for 3mm screws (10mm long) in case someone wants to use this additional fastening for the wire spring (but it works nice without it too)
