V2 Changelogs
- Air path points lower; doesn't cool down the nozzle as much
- Less restricted heat break fan
- Model weight decreased from 30g to 22g (PETG, 0.8mm shell, 15% infill)
- V2+ will be modeled for M3 screws only
Features
- For the Ender 3 and similar Creality models
- Dual 5015 blower fans for part cooling (Tested with Winsinn branded fans)
- Compatible with 40mm heat break fans
- Reuses stock mounting screws
- Weighs 22g (printed in PETG, 0.8mm shell thickness, 15% infill)
- 55° overhangs and 2cm bridges; no supports required for most printers!
- Relatively small horizontal footprint (useful for per-object printing)
- Visible heat block for easy troubleshooting and maintenance
Installation
- Remove the old fan shroud
Unscrew, leave the main extruder assembly (heat block, heat break, wires etc.) - Put on the new shroud
Take care to not force or damage the wires; the heater and thermistor wires are fragile - Screw in the mounting screws
Do this before the fans or else they will be inaccessible later on - Screw in the fans
Stock screws for 4010s, ≥25mm for 4020s and ≥20mm for 5015s - Wire the electronics
Pull the cables through the sheath, crimp, connect etc.
Extra Considerations
- The new fans are much more powerful than stock. For Winsinn 5015s, 30% is the new 100% fan speed. Most prints don't need this much power so run them at a lower speed.
- Not all printer boards have two fan headers for the part cooling fans. Be prepared to splice and solder.
- If you upgraded the heat break fan as well (like I did), run it at a lower speed to prevent thermal runaway; it can also increase heat-up times.
- As always, re-tune your PID and input shaper if you have it!

Differences of the remix compared to the original
This model is adapted to accommodate two 5015 blower fans (modeled after Winsinn fans) for enhanced part cooling. Some sections have also been modified to reduce weight.
