A low-profile, modular slide-in system, including a phone stand and bicycle handlebar mount, car air vent mount and standard 1/4-20 UNC tripod mount.
It is simple to create new options; use the case insert as a deductive body and offset the faces 0.10mm.
Print the case, case insert and camera cover and whichever mounts you require.
I used contrasting colours for clarity, but I also like it that way.
The phone stand (and case insert) extend only 3mm, so can be left on all the time with minimal bulk and position the phone at 30° from vertical during use.
The bicycle mount features a finger release clip to properly secure the phone during use. There is a small (26) and large (32) size. The 26 works for traditional 26mm and is spaced to also fit older 25.4mm handlebars. The 32mm one will fit 31.8mm handlebars.
I sized the small at 26mm as they are most often bare metal and large at 32mm, rather than 31.8mm, as they most often have an oxide or other coating that actually makes them 32mm. Both have a couple of mm either way, which is why the 26mm one also fits 25.4mm bars (verified).
This allows for mounting on air vents by way of flexing to fit one of the vent blades. It works at least on the three vechcles I tested. If it doesn't work for you, I will modify it on request.
Using a 1/4-20 UNC hex nut will allow this to mount to most tripods and other related systems. The part clears the edge of the phone in either orientation.
All parts are already oriented in the direction I printed them and I used 0.15mm layers and 2-4 perimeters based on the part and material.
I painted supports on to the recessed corner - see the last image. The screw holes require no support as they have Prusa’s hole supports.
I suggest PETG for the case, but I think there is room for experimentation. I might try PC myself or one of the new high-temperature PLAs.
This is the receiver for all of the mount options. No special instructions for printing.
I suggest using the same material as you use for the case.
This part is unmodified and requires no special directions.
Print in place (do not separate the two parts). No supports required.
1 M3 x 5 (optimal - anything from 4-12mm will work)
2 M4 x 12 bolts (optimal - anything from 10-20mm will work)
2 M4 hex nuts
2 M4 washers (optional, recommended)
I suggest using PC or perhaps PETG or a PETG composite. I have 4-5 bicycle mounts in service for some time made from Prusament PC Blend.
No supports required for any part.
1 M3 x 10mm bolt (optimal - anything from 8-16mm will work)
Car mount A
No supports needed - the screw hole has a sacrificial bridge for support.
Car mount B
No supports needed - the screw hole has been shaped for clean printing without support
I suggest PETG, or at least not normal PLA.
1 1/4-20 UNC hex nut.
For 0.15mm layers, pause at 21.05 and insert the nut (21.00 for 0.2mm layers).
No supports required.
The author remixed this model.
I made a hole in the back cover and designed all other parts from scratch.
