Repair of a Cableroller-Brake at Vacuum Cleaner "Dirt Devil"

Brake did not stop the cable, but rewound every time. which was not good.

I too it apart and found a worn out brake disk. This was a soft disk. During disassembly the axle also broke, so I designed a new roll (TPU) and center (PETG-CF) with hole for ø4mmx12mm dowel pin as axle. Roll and center I applied with some Loctite. Axle was pretty tight, so this should work.

After reassembly everything worked out fine. Hope this repair will work for another couple of years. Nice when over your projects you come more and more to a first shot hit.  ; ))
