After a front-end crash broke one of the original wishbone pin carriers on my Octane XL RC buggy, I discovered the part was out of stock from the supplier. Using the remaining undamaged part as a reference, a pair of calipers, and FreeCAD, I designed and modeled a custom replacement.
These carriers are critical components, anchoring the front suspension wishbones to the chassis and handling the load from the front wheels. I printed mine using Carbon Fiber PLA, which I highly recommend for its added strength and rigidity. In my experience, the printed version held up better under stress than the original plastic parts.

I’ve since upgraded to aluminum carriers, but for anyone in a pinch or without access to metal replacements, this printed option is reliable and durable. The FreeCAD source files are included for anyone who wishes to remix, reinforce, or improve the design. If you do, please consider sharing your version with the community—it would be greatly appreciated!
