With the new Legacy edition of Vector Prime missing his little buddy, we had do something to add Safeguard back!
Similar to his original figure, the fact that he has a back canon which folds down to act as a stand can be quite handy!
The back canon piece coming in handy, helping Safeguard to clip quite snugly on Vector Prime's shoulder here.
And with a few quick and simple transformation steps, Safeguard turns into his little spacecraft mode too! With the help of a little included 5mm peg, he can attach onto Vector Prime's forearm, just like before.
And we've also snuck in a little 3mm peg on the tip of this short canon barrel, so effect parts can be pegged on too!
Zipping over to alt mode, Safeguard would connect atop Vector Prime just like before, where the use of effect parts for added dynamism is more than recommended.
=== Assembly ===
The included diagram shows a look at the parts for Safeguard and how they are to be assembled. Only one side of the arms and legs have been shown to reduce visual clutter.
All pegs required are short segments of 1.75mm filament cut down to size. Larger circular cutouts have been designed into the parts to allow for the use of a heated tool to form a mushroom head for the pegs to better hold them in place.
To do that, first carefully heat up a metal tool of choice. We're using a handy pin punch here.
You might want to test how long / hot to heat things up on a test piece first to get a feel. When the tool has been heated to just about right, use it to gently press against the filament to melt it down. We find that with the right temperature and moving in circular motions, you should be able to easily and quickly form the mushroom head feature.
Here's what it should look like when that is complete. As an added bonus, if you are using the same filament for the pegs as you are for the printed part, further forming should allow it both pieces to become quite flush with one another.

And there we have it, the missing minicon for Vector Prime so that he doesn't have to trawl all over time and space to look for his buddy! Hope everyone will have fun adding on this mini companion also and as always happy 3d printing! =)
