Hello Everyone

I designed a magnetic case for the MITUTOYO Absolute AOS Digimatic Caliper 150 mm (500-196-30) – the version with a thumb roller. To complete the project, you will need 6 neodymium magnets with a diameter of 8 mm and a thickness of 2 mm. At the bottom, near the magnet, there is a grip that makes it easy to open the case.

The top cover features the Mitutoyo logo and a decorative pattern. It has been designed so that if you don’t color the logo and the pattern, they won’t be printed – the top cover will remain smooth. You can also use the ready-made *.3MF file that contains the colored version – just swap out the filament according to your preferences. I’ve also prepared a *.3MF file with the Fuzzy Skin texture.

Since I use the case solely for storing the caliper in one of my tool drawers – protecting it from damage caused by other tools – I decided to design it with a 1 mm clearance around the caliper. This makes it quick and easy to remove, as nothing holds it in place. However, if you need a case for transporting the caliper and want it to stay securely in place, simply add a 1 mm thick self-adhesive foam pad to each side, as well as one on the top cover where the battery flap is located. This will ensure the caliper fits perfectly in the case and doesn’t move around.
