Even though the new joycons on Switch two are more ergonomic than the tiny joycons of the original switch, I missed using my more beefier Nyxi Hyperions.
As there are currently no 3rd party joycons available, I designed this simple adapter to attach any old joycons to my Switch 2. They obviously have to be connected in wireless mode now and are no longer charged by the console. But except for this (and a little more wobble then I'd like) this works quite nicely.
For the magnetic connection I just cut and bend two thin metallic sheets so they fit in the recessed area on the switch 2 side of the adapter (see image). They can be glued in with epoxy to stay in place.
I designed the adapter to stick out a little over the console to use this part as a grip for detaching it from the strong magnets of the console. However, with my beefy joycons and the metal sheet I glued in, this was not really needed. Therefore, I also included a shorter version.
