Just what I needed!  A lightweight packable clamp stand.

TLDR

  • If sliced at 0.2mm layer height
    • The top layer of the hex will “bridge”, making supports not necessary at all.
  • Single color printers
    • Only print the base
    • Filament color swap at 4.0mm - 4.8mm to highlight locks
  • Multi color printers
    • Each part is printed as a separate color
  • Clamps I used
  • Stainless Steel Bolts (either)
    • 3/8" - 1" long
    • ¼" - 1" long

Stands designed to accept a 1" long bolt, leaving enough exposed threads to screw on a clamp assembly that can be purchased online.

Many types of small clamp assemblies will work with this model as designed, however, the pictured clamps were purchased for <$10 each or ~$4 per piece in bulk.

Printing does NOT require supports when sliced for 0.2mm or derivative layer heights.  At 0.2mm, it has a solid layer covering the transition from hex to round in the bolt hole which slicers interpret as bridging and tend to print more reliably.  I find the bolt can be pushed through to destroy this single layer when temporarily inserted from the top.  Any leftover strings usually stay hidden by the bolt when it is pushed back in the correct way.

Changing the filament at 4mm - 4.8mm will highlight of the embossed Atlanta Locksport Logo.

I'm certain this will function as well for the metric hardware used in the rest of the world, but may need to be scaled slightly to get a snug fit for whatever bolt matches your clamp.
