Updates:

  • After printing mine, I realized my 6mm x 2mm magnets were too weak. The heater is held to the wall but uses the power cord to stay up, added a 10mm and 8mm magnet version
  • Added a clearance hole for the heater button
  • Added a 2mm taper from the base to the top to match the mini heater housing

Bracket for mounting a mini space heater to the inside of the Centauri Carbon to control the internal temperature of the unit. Bracket uses 4 6mm x 2mm magnets to attach to the enclosure.

Requires a portable space heater, temperature controller, and temperature probe. It should also be compatible with other printers.

Recommend printing in ASA/ABS, but PETG should also be fine.

Setup:

The heater is mounted in the bracket inside the printer chamber and plugged into the temperature controller. I also added a spare smart plug I had lying around, so I can set up a timer for the heater, ensuring it doesn't keep running after a print is complete. The controller can't use the timer and temp control features simultaneously.

The sensor for the temperature controller can be run through the existing hole for the filament runout sensor. For the heater plug, you can run it through the poop chute or use this passthrough spool holder if you want to avoid adding any holes to the chassis.

Parts.
