Update August 2, 2025: Model tested & finished!

Here's my biggest (Published) model yet! Coming in at 43 parts, and over a foot long, this is one hefty train ready to haul!

This is R1 compatible! Surprise, I know. There's a lot of rear overhang, but there isn't really a good way to circumvent it.

Several parts are not in the intended orientation, so you'll have to bed them yourself. Bedding & special instructions are in the notes for each part.

This is not motorized yet! I'm working on motorization for it, and that'll be posted later as a remix. (For now, use an engine on the rear to push - Make sure the couplers are actually usable for pushing!)

I highly recommend pairing with my coaches

Proudly designed in Tinkercad & made in Canada

|| THE BOILER NEEDS SUPPORTS ||

(The cab roof may also benefit from supports, but not strictly necessary)

[Video not made - Coming soon]

|| Hardware required ||

  • Screws (Many different kinds, but all screw-holes are modelled as 2.8mm diameter - I salvage off broken locomotives/rolling stock)
  • Glue (I use Gorilla Glue Clear Grip contact adhesive)
  • 2x freight car wheels (I use HLW ones for better R1 handling. The oversized flange helps it to track through switches better when pushed)

|| Optional hardware! ||

  • Paint is optional but highly recommended!
  • One Kadee 830/930 coupler for the rear. I highly recommend if you're pushing the loco!
