No supports needed, the USB and DB9 halves snap together with the adapter.

I ordered a few of these and the length can vary a bit. You can easily adjust it, if you’re not satisfied with the fit. Use a caliper to measure from the outside or the plug side of the flat metal bracket to the opposite edge of the pcb. In Fusion 360 go to Change Parameters and change User Parameter “pcbLength” to what you measured in mm.
