Description

PDF

It's a small tensegrity table as print-in-place (PIP) model with single thin filament bridges as trings.

Two sizes (30mm and 40mm cubed) and two styles:

  • “full” - the normal type with one load string in the center and 4 stabilizing strings in the corners. Fully stable.
  • “half” - with one load string shifted a bit back and only 2 stabilizing strings. This is stable when the load on the table is about centered or at the front, but can collapse when loaded at the back side (behind the load string).

Using normal PLA it can carry over 80g - but I didn't let it carry that for long… Depending on size and printer settings it takes about 20-30 minutes.

I'm a bit late for the trend, but I recently started playing with string art (in the wider sense: here), so I wanted to do a simple tensegrity thingy, too.

Pinting:

  • 0.2mm layer height
  • Wall generator: Arachne
  • needs good bridging capabilities
