A propeller/wing protector for the inexpensive Drone Pro/E88/E99/E58 drone. This drone is a knock-off of the toy quad-copter, the “Eachine E58”. You can easily find this USD $20 drone on marketplaces such as Temu and AliExpress. Tested with the E88, although most feature similar if not identical body shapes, except for minor differences. Tested with an 0.4 nozzle in PLA, although I'd guess that most semi-flexible plastics would work. Heat the wing protector until it is warm enough to bend, and bend the end into shape with your hands or pliers using another protector for reference.
Notes:
I've noticed that this model is slightly shorter than the original wing protectors, but I haven't noticed a difference in performance.
This model is ever so slightly different than the model it is based on, with a (in my opinion) more easy to find name and more detailed description. The original model had nubs on the mounting plate which made it impossible to use with the drone, but this model has solved that problem.
Be careful not to heat the small handle that helps with putting on and taking off, as it can snap.
It is recommended to print with supports, although it may work without them, I haven't tested.
Once again, print in a semi-flexible material like PLA or PETG. Tested in PLA.
Sometimes it can be difficult to put these on the longer legs as the tolerances can be too restrictive.
Installation guide:
Print the piece I recommend printing 4, because it is ever so slightly heavier than the originals.
Use a heat gun to soften the protector 1.5 cm from the end If you have an option, set the temperature to the lowest possible. PLA softens at 60 degrees Celsius.
Bend the piece by hand or with pliers, using an original protector for reference I recommend bending it by hand. Don't bend too hard, it should give very easily. The piece is slightly shorter, don't worry about size too much.
Install on your drone and enjoy! Initial installation can be a bit difficult, don't push too hard! I believe in you!
