I use a folding “piano” bench/stool which great for traveling.
The legs often times flop all over the place and more than once, I've almost had my fingers jammed in them when transporting this bench.
Well, I thought why can't I have a leg locker for those stupid legs so they would stay put when I've folded them down. This made me want to design my first 3D print.
This is was tested with the TENTOTEN Folding Bench, but I'm guessing most of these folding benches uses the same mechanism. It should work with every height setting except the lowest bench height. I've mostly use the 2nd height setting, so it's optimized for that. Higher bench settings also work when the legs are folded down.
Bench Leg Locker: This is the one that I use and has a satisfying sound when snapping it into place. However, you'll have to print it with supports.
Bench Leg Locker-No Supports: (The dark blue ones in the photo) If you don't care about the snapping sound and would rather not print with supports, this version you can print flat.
I've included the: .3mf, .step and .STL versions of the models. I highly recommend you use either the .3mf or the .step to print. The .STL just doesn't have as much resolution when printing.
Here's a video of me demonstrating the model:
