Wilfa Svart Aroma Top Burr Holder – Original & Modded Version

This is a 3D printable replacement top burr holder for the Wilfa Svart coffee grinder. Perfect if your original holder has broken, or you want to improve grind fineness.

Compatible with:
Wilfa CGWS-130B and Wilfa WSCG-2

Included Versions:

Standard Replacement: Matches the original part’s dimensions for a direct swap.

Modded Version: Allows finer grind adjustment by lowering the top burr in 0.1 mm increments, from:

  • 0.1 mm
  • 0.2 mm
  • 0.3 mm (Recommended)
  • 0.4 mm (Too low)

The modded version is based on this table from https://honestcoffeeguide.com/coffee-grind-size-chart/

It's shown that Wilfa Svart (Svart Aroma) grinds “in range” for espresso somewhere in ±320 microns. From this, we can conclude that to add extra fines, we can lower the top burr by around 300 microns (0.3 mm).

Grind visual test:

I looked at those grinds for so long I do not see any diffrences by now. But by rubbing them inbetween my fingers I feel that the 0.3 is finer.

Recommended Print Settings (FDM):

Layer height: 0.1 mm (Print files are optimized to be printed with 0.1)

Walls: 3 perimeters

Top/Bottom Layers: 3 each

Infill: 10%

Supports: Automatic Snug supports required with “On build plate” option

Wall mode: Enable Precise Wall (if available in slicer)

Material: PETG or ABS recommended (PLA not advised due to heat produced by grinding)

Ironing: Optional

Print orientation:

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the holder, remove any blobs that might mess with the burr to assure proper alignment.
  2. Remove the coffee bean basket from the grinder.
  3. Pull out the original top burr holder.
  4. Carefully remove the metal burr from the plastic holder (do not break the clips, if you still need your old holder).
  5. Insert the burr into the new printed holder, it should be hold in place with friction.
  6. Put it on not slip surface, metal side down, and apply pressure to fully incert it.
  7. Reinstall the holder into the grinder.
  8. Put the coffee bean basket back in place and slowly twist to the desired position. Do it with an EMPTY basket. If you hear any metal on metal nosies, stop the machine and use a smaller offset holder.
  9. To change the holder, use the “Removal tool” for easy swaps.

Note: The modded version changes the grind range and zero point — recalibration for your espresso may be needed. Install carefully to avoid damaging the burrs or misalignment. Start from the middle of the available settings, 0.4 mm might be a bit close to lower burr. Be careful to not damage your burrs. I'm not responsible for any damage that might occur.
