Certain upgrades and encounter cards modify basic powers on character cards. These counters can help keeping track of the modified values.
In the example below Adam Warlock was able to get out all three of the upgrades from his default deck, giving him +1 to all of his basic power stats.
I tried to stay close to the iconography on the cards as it should be more intuitive which basic powers have been modified. Also, I think it's visually more pleasing. ^_^
The back of each counter shows the corresponding number from the front, making it easier to find the one you need when they are face down. Highlighting the indentation with a pencil or a felt tip pen should make the numbers more visible. You can also add contrast by printing the bottom layers in a different color than the rest. See the “How to print” section for more details.
While this is a multicolor print, a multi-material upgrade or similar multicolor systems are not required. The counters are designed in a way so that simple filament changes are sufficient to print them.
After printing the base you need at least 1 change before printing the top structures. If you want to keep the shadow effect (which I highly recommend), you have to do 2 filament changes. And if you want some contrast for the bottom structures, you will need 3 or 4 changes, depending on what bottom color you want.
Provided you print in 0.2 mm layers, the bottom structures are 2 layers thick, the shadow structures are 1 layer and the top structures are 3 layers.
Please let me know what you think. Also, do feel free to drop me a message, if you have problems with printing these or if you have ideas for add-ons or for how to improve the design.
