Print tips

There are two methods for printing the lid.

  1. Print in one go using file “lid_w_detail”.
This requires supports that can be a little tricky to remove. The supported area is hidden when the box is closed so no loss of class whatsoever :) In order to get the two color effect you need to introduce a color change when the bandage detail starts to appear.

  2. Print the lid and the bandage separately.
If you decide to go this way then you should print the file “lid_socket” on the bed as shown in the picture below and with “for support enforcers only” supports activated.

Now use the "smart fill" feature of the paint-on supports to select only the bandage detail area:

This will make sure that a thin layer of supports is created only in the socketed area. This will stay on the print bed when removing the piece.
Finally, print the bandage detail separately and glue it in the lid socket.
