The speed hole puncher is a beverage access optimization device designed for rapid liquid intake via structural breach of a 12oz aluminum liquid containment unit.

But really, this is just meant to be a fun tool to poke holes in cans to make it easier to chug.

Notes:

  • The poker was added as a separate object so it can be reprinted, as needed, since it can wear down over time.
  • Since the poker can be difficult to insert into the slots, I've found it best to place the poker on a table (flat part down), align it with the slider, and then push the slider down onto the poker until it clicks into the slots.
  • It can initially be a pretty snug fit, but opening/closing the slider a bunch can help loosen it up a bit.
  • It won't work well with all cans, due to slight differences in design, but I've been able to punch holes in a few.
  • I've printed this in basic PLA, which seems to work fine. I can't say how well it'll work with other materials

Other info in this design:

  • You'll notice there's a few extra slots on the slider - this was leftover from my first attempt to make this, where I was using carpet tacks. I later added the ‘poker’ as a 3D printable piece, since it seems to work better. I left the slots in the design, particularly out of laziness.

This is my first 3D print model produced completely from scratch, so feel free to provide any constructive feedback.

Thanks for reading/checking it out!
