This groundbreaking new design has some characteristics of the first tool end-- most of the air still shoots out the front, but some of the air is delivered around to the back. I was able to modulate the air going to each section by calculating areas of the outlets which I took to be a fixed size vs the areas of the inlets which I could vary. The result? High flow, unimpeded by complex ductwork, a sensible easy to picture flow that leaves little to the imagination, and real world cooling performance that shows a clear advantage.

This needs to be printed in a decent high temp filament like ABS. Remember to scale to around 100.5%!

This version is not considered part of the stock build because of two reasons: It requires you to trim the cup off of the silicone sock, and the cooling ring is too close to the nozzle and the plastic softens. This is the best performing design, but it's also flying too close to the sun. Of course if you can print this in a proper high temp filament such as PPS-CF, then all power to you; You should no doubt use this design and not the stock one!

You should probably print this with supports - build plate only, normal supports. Just so the wraparound cooling ring doesn't turn into a wraparound octagon. The slicer should not generate supports anywhere except on the cooling ring.

After printing, clean off any junk with an xacto blade.
