DC brushed motor. it doesn't work but with a little refining it could work. it got a stator, commutator, shaft and housing, could benefit from a brushed housing. Leaving it here incase someone's interested in it. idk what gauge of copper I used, and the magnet holes are 15mm circular magnets. the magnets fit pretty well without glue/tape.

Assembly is pretty simple, but a couple tips that aren't inherently obvious:

  1. Make sure the winding direction is the same. The winding poles directly opposite each other are the SAME coil, and need to be bound the same direction.
  2. The magnet polarity from on the left (3) need to be opposite of the right (3) i.e the left side is the south side of the magnets and the right is the north side.
  3. The back of the rotor has four slots, leaving four segments. That is your commutator. Wrap tin foil around each segment, make sure the tin foil DOES NOT touch the neighboring segments.

anyway try it out, or fix/optimize it if your feeling adventurous. It's genuinely a fun science project.
