The origins of eating utensils can be traced back to prehistoric times, with early versions of knives and spoons being crafted from stone, wood, and bone. Knives were among the first tools used for cutting, dating back to the Paleolithic era. Spoons, initially made from wood or shells, appeared shortly after. While knives and spoons existed for a long time, forks were a later addition to the dining table. The fork's popularity gradually increased, particularly during the Renaissance, with its use spreading from Italy to other parts of Europe.
