is great model and I wanted to make a STAND for it. I made it so it does not require supports. That is why the long bars extensions are off set from center. it is a tight fit so you do not require glue but you can of course add it. Besides the pegs are there as well

Cleanup the hole (tends to distort due to size and orientation with a #49 drill bit if you have one). Use your 1.75 filament for the pegs. Put a small dab of glue is the peg is a bit loose.  

If you use a wood filament try and use a .5 nozzle.
