I saw something in a magazine 10+ years ago and wished I had it last winter walking through a city to my hotel as my shoulder and back was hurting. I wished the handle was lower so the bag could ride flatter to the ground and was turned 90 degrees to my hand.
I searched the internet and found only a larger, bulkier device and the Travelon on Amazon that has been out of stock for years. I decided all it needed was a hook and a handle and no straps to fumble with.
I have 2 luggage bags and I sized it to the more narrow of the 2 and the thickest handle. The hook part is 82mm wide, and 30mm inside diameter.
The hook is extra long so it can hang off the handle without falling while you fumble your passport and boarding pass.
If you need it wider, narrower, there is an STL without fillets so you can push/pull it in CAD for your own luggage handle needs.
It's not the most compact travel device, but if you've had to walk a long distance pulling a bag, or you're taller, or you've just done a shoulder workout the day before, you know exactly the problem.
I printed a prototype with just 2 walls, 2 ceilings and floors, and 10% infill and it was plenty strong in regular PETG because I sized the hook dimensions thicker. But probably go 3 walls, 15% to be on the PETG safe side. Maybe 4-5 walls, 4 floors and ceilings and 20% if using PLA.
Feel free to remix and resize as you need.
As far as I can search, this is something original and unique on Earth that I created.
Enjoy.
