Simple clamp mount for a Garmin Varia RTL515 quarter turn, using the original insert that comes with the light, a few M3 screws and some heat inserts. Has a 10 degree rake on the stay to suit the rear tube on a Topeak Super Tourist, as i was not happy with the “o-ring” mounting system for my chosen place to put the light. Slightly oversized around the stay to allow a rubber strip or some tape to protect the coating.
Needs:
Original QT insert that comes with the light
4 x M3x4x5 heat inserts
4 x M3x18
2 x M3x8
Tape or rubber strip.
4 inserts go on the insert side, then attach the insert from the rear with the M3x8, wrap the stay with your preferred method, use the M3x18 to attach the 2 parts together around the pipe. Twist on the Vario and go!
