This model turns your Dyson V15 (also compatible with (V11 and SV14 not tested yet) into a fully functional, air-powered foam ball blaster – using only redirected airflow, no motors or batteries.

I am planning on releasing adapter for all reasonable Dyson versions for free later on.
I have also started Sketching for a High capacity drum-mag, that I'm planning on releasing for free in a while!

It is designed so that you can easily get the parts you need.

So lets start with each file:

I would recommend printing in 20-30% infill.
I printed at 0.2 mm Leyer height and a 0.4 nozzle

Fillament used:
Prusament PLA Prusa Galaxy Black
Prusament PLA Blend Oh My Gold 

 

  1. Bodies:
    This file includes the top and bottom body of the blaster
    the handle and the “trigger plate” 

    print with supports.
    you can now paint on fuzzy skin on the handle (optional)

     
  2.  Adapter and barrels:
    print with supports

     
  3. Rails:
    print with supports
     
  4. Magazine:
    Print with supports
     
  5. Pins
    print with supports
    Perimeters: 10
    print with brim at 5 mm
    (i included the G code in the files)
    Sanding here depends on printing tolerances

     
  6. Sight:
    print with supports
    5 mm brim for the pin
     
  7. Smaller parts:
    print with supports 
    perimeters: 10
     
  8. Trigger system:
    print with supports
    perimeters: 10


    Now that you have all your parts you can start the assembly.

     
  9. Check fittings as you go, most is press fit and the pins might need some sanding.
    DO NOT GLUE ANYTHING BEFORE FIT TEST
     
  10. Start with your adapter and put some glue in the small holes.
    press your magnets into the holes and let it try. REMEMBER TO NEVER TRY ATTACHING THE ADAPTER TO THE DYSON BEFORE THE GLUE HAS DRIED!!! (yes i did that….)
     
  11. Place a spring around the pin that is in the front of the trigger system (shown in the picture further down at 17. ) (can be a bit tricky)
    (20mm x 5 mm spring used)
     
  12. Assemble the trigger system 

  13. Place the trigger and push the pin thru the first hole,
  14. Then push the pin thru the “stoppers” and the trigger hole
    (can be a bit tricky)
  15. You then do the same with the “shafts” as shown here using the firing mode pin
  16. Moving the shafts out of the way you glue ONE Of the holders to the bottom body
    (it should fit perfectly, test with both to know where they should go before you use glue)
  17.  You then place the trigger shaft as shown, push the spring to the front (make sure it stops at the “stopper” on the shaft, while you squize in the last holder
    (make sure to add glue before you "squeeze" it in place and also make sure that none of the moving parts gets glued.

    It should look like this
  18. Now when the glue has dried it's time for assembling the top part to the bot part
    take your top part and push the front pin in place aligned as shown:


    (Make sure to press the trigger as you want the pin to be hitting the hole in the barrel)
    and carefully place it down.


     
  19. When your pin is in place as shown you can now secure the top part to the bot part as shown:





     
  20. You may now simply just glue the handle to your gun. no picture needed.
     
  21. When the glue has dried you can fit the trigger plate in place and press in the pins for that.



     

  22. The mag release should easily glide all the way in and out, some light sanding might be required.

     
  23. You then place a spring inside the hole and around the pin coming from the mag release
    (10mm x 20 mm spring used here)
    and push in the button that fits on top, it is press fit.
     

  24. You can use glue, but i would recommend and wait until you are finished with the build

  25. I cut some of the sight pin off to make it fit
    you can glue the sight in place or use M3 x 20 screws(careful as you are screwing them in to the plastic


     


  26. If you have problems printing this pin, you can use some filament as an option.

     
  27.  Make sure to test your adapter on the Dyson before you start gluing and get the right orientation when on the adapter to the gun!!!
    AS SUPERGLUE DRIES QUICKLY, YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS IN THE RIGHT ORIENTATION AND THAT EVERYTHING FITS BEFORE APPLYING GLUE HERE
    (the glue is supposed to go inside the adapter part not the pipe into the gun!)
    Also note that if you use the power on the Dyson before the adapter is glued together it could fly off.



    The magazine:
  28. This is where you need your pen.
     
  29. You start by glue these 2 parts together
     
  30. Take your pen and brake it, you only need the spring.
     
  31. It should be possible to push the spring thru the top.(if the spring is too long, just cut of the length you need(should be the length of the hole in the bottom)



     
  32. Put it to the side for now. and let dry.

    (if you have a spring that fits inside the magazine it might be the best option, but not tested)
  33. Take one tention spring and attach it to the hole in the “ball pusher”
    (the picture is from an older version but the principle is the same)

     
  34. Attach the other end of the spring to the magazine
    (also a older version but there is a pin you can attach it to)



     
  35. With the spring inserted push the ball stopper in place.

  37. You then glue it to the top of the magazine,


     
  38. I attached some sanding paper on a chopstick and used a drill to sand the inside of the magazine to make the pusher move more smoothly - it can be a bit tricky to get it right.
     
  39. Put the cap on the bottom, you can glue it in place but it is press fit.

     
  40. Now all you really have to do is attach your blaster to the Dyson- and load your magazine!
