Intro

I’d like to thank Soozafone for the inspiration behind this model. Their Dummy 13 was really cool and a fun challenge, so I decided to create my own. Dummy 13 may have more downloads, but if you’d like to support a new creator, please consider leaving a like.

Dummy 14 is a model I made from scratch (including ball joints, hands, and more). I started with a chain link figure (photo shown below) and ended up with this. More add-ons are coming soon!

Print Information

Material:ABS, ASA, PETGSupports:Paint on (more info below)
Size:70% to 180%Infill:At least 10%
Layer hight:0.15mm to 0.2mmBrim:Not usually

Here is a more detailed explanation for the print information:

DO NOT SPLIT TO OBJECTS IN PRUSA SLICER

  1. Material  Try to avoid PLA because it is stiff so it can be harder to snap pieces together.  PLA also creeps after a while so parts will get loose.  If PLA is the only thing you have I'd say go for it though!
  2. Supports  This model requires custom supports.  Use the type organic, support enforces only.  First, go into paint on supports and paint the overhang on both of the leg receivers. Second, change your brush size to max.  Click on all the ball joints to paint them.
  3. Size  I have had success scaling Dummy 14 down to 70% and up to 180%. (Any higher than that and the joints break when you try to put them in)
  4. Infill  You want to have an infill of at least 10% to keep the model mildly strong but raise it as much as you would like.
  5. Layer Hight  I have had success with 0.15mm and 0.2mm layer hight but 0.2mm is recommended.
  6. Brim  I found you don't usually need a brim; if you have adhesion problems I recommend it though.
  7. Why Can't I Split This Design to Objects?  You shouldn't have to split to objects or the supports will get in the way of each other.
