If I am doing this on a TRUE French cleat wall how far apart should the cleats be to handle the spacing on the bracket AND to allow for a spool to be taken off? My measurements it looks to be about 5 1/4 inches. Sound right?

Easy and simple. Works great! Decing the lenth on the wall was the hard part.

Great project, love it. Thanks for sharing.

Printed a box of these and buying more conduit pipe to make more

Printing the cleats right now, seems ok

Great design!
I used wooden rods with a diameter of 19mm and had to widen the holes of the hanger slightly (18mm would've probably fit without any issues).
It's really sturdy and I probably have erred a tad too much on the side of caution with a spacing of ~460mm.
Also, I recommend you print the Hanger Lock by @IvyMike. (edited)

Thanks for the model! Has been helping my new setup! Just wish I knew how to cut long French cleats to stop the sagging where I can't mount anything

Love this system! Printed with .4 nozzle and .3 layer height. No supports.

I need two more shelves on each side. Hubby is putting those up for me tomorrow. Puppers is exhausted from counting all the filament rolls.
