I designed this bracket as I wanted to have the MagSafe experience but with my Android phone, for easy attachment and charging in the car. Especially getting the curves of the center console right was very difficult but finally got I tight fit after a lot prototypes.
Parts I used from Aliexpress (need these exact parts or they might not fit)
As for printing directions:
- Needs to be printed in the orientation as shown in the photos, otherwise the (very small) retaining ring doesn't print right (holds the charging pad from coming through) and the tolerance for the press fit is based on this printing orientation.
- Part in the photo's is a prototype printed in .3 layer height. For better looks (with the steep overhangs it has) it is better to print on .2 or .15.
- Don't print in PLA, it will deform on a hot summer day as it becomes to hot. Use PETG instead
- When slicing, make sure the seams don't end up on an awkward place. Mine had (rough) seams on the inside of the grip which might damage the center console
