Your piece of wood should be at least 5"(125mm) wide, and 3/4"(18mm) thick. Cut your board to the desired length and these will attach on the end. I recommend making it at least 2 inches longer than your roller. Accomodates rollers that are 5"(125mm) in diameter. I used #10 x 1" screws to attach this to the 3/4" MDF.
Print 2 of these to turn any board into a roller hook. Roller hooks that only attach to one side are often flimsy but this one can attach from both sides, allowing it to be very sturdy. It also features a small lip near the hook so that the rubber part of a roller never touches the side of the roller hook.
The roller pictured is 12" (305mm) on a 13" (330mm) roller hook.
