I tried cleaning the contacts with rolled up tissues, rags, cocktail stick, brushes, etc, nothing was ideal. So I designed my own tool for it.

You can use it on its own to loosen up debris and then blow the loosened bits out, or you can use it to poke a single layer of ordinary tissue (face, toilet etc) into the hole. Twist the tool back and forth about a quarter turn each way a couple of times, if you do it too much with a tissue it may leave bits of tissue behind in the hole which you've then got to blow out or fish out with a cocktail stick (DO NOT DAMAGE THE RUBBER INSULATOR!!!).

Can use a very thin bit of scrap ultra-lightweight fabric instead of tissue to avoid any shedding in the hole - I tried some garden fleece that's so cheap it's almost see-through and that worked ok. Don't use a good hanky, it'll leave a mess on it that probably won't wash out and may damage the fabric too.

Any normal print settings should do, I just used Cura's defaults for TPU and it turned out fine. No support or adhesion. 0.2mm layers with a 0.4mm nozzle. The bits that stick out at the end are designed to be 2 x 0.4mm thick so a wider nozzle will probably leave you with only a single wall on the prongs and that's likely to be too weak.

I designed the TPU Dust Cap in the title photo, it's available here…
