Modular Typography Stamp – Inspired by Gutenberg’s Printing Press

This 3D-printed stamp is a modular set consisting of a stamp body, a handle, and a locking mechanism. The special feature: individual letters, numbers, punctuation marks, and spaces can be slid into the stamp body and securely locked in place – just like the movable type used in Gutenberg’s original printing press.

With this setup, you can compose and print custom text, such as names, short messages, or decorative phrases. Perfect for greeting cards, gifts, crafts, or creative DIY projects.

The character set includes uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, punctuation, and space inserts, all designed to be swapped and reused.

  • Modular system – reconfigurable and reusable
  • Mechanical lock keeps characters securely in position
  • Inspired by historical letterpress printing – reimagined with modern 3D printing
  • Works with standard ink pads
  • Includes the full alphabet, numbers, punctuation marks, and spacers

A dimensioned reference plan is included so you can design and print your own custom inserts

Material Tips:

The stamp body and mechanical parts are designed for PLA or other rigid filament.

The letter inserts work best when printed in 100% TPU, based on real-world testing, for a snug fit and clean prints.
