Mundus Sine Caesaribus

Bluesky Social is a decentralized social network that seeks to compete against traditional networks by allowing its users to customize their own feed and usage habits.

Recently, the owner of Meta (Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook) showed up at the SXSW 2025 tech event wearing a T-shirt that read "Aut Zuck aut nihil" (either Zuck or nothing), a variation of "Aut Caesar aut nihil" (either Caesar or nothing).

Bluesky's current CEO, Jay Garber, responded live wearing a T-shirt that read "Mundus Sine Caesaribus" (a world without Caesars), representing the philosophy of her social network.

This last phrase has become a motto for several Bluesky users, advocating for less dependence on tech leaders and the use of algorithms in social media. The 3D design represents the famous phrase embedded in the butterfly silhouette, Bluesky's logo and visual identity.
