Say goodbye to missing pens and rogue pencils. PenNest is a simple, reliable, and good-looking solution for keeping your favorite writing tools right where you need them—on the fridge, filing cabinet, whiteboard, metal door, or any magnetic surface.

Designed to hold three pens, pencils or sharpies, PenNest makes sure you’re always ready to jot a note, write a reminder, or scribble a quick list. It’s great for households, teachers, workshops, or anyone who needs a magnetically mounted writing utensil handy without the usual clutter.

The design uses four round magnets (less can work fine for larger sizes) for a strong, stable mount—no wobble, no slipping. Just a clean, secure perch that looks like it belongs.

Supported Magnet Sizes:

  • 8x2 mm, 8x3 mm
  • 10x2 mm, 10x3 mm
  • 12x2 mm, 12x3 mm
  • 15x2 mm, 15x3 mm

All magnet versions are available in both 3MF and STEP formats, so you can print the one that matches the magnets you already have—or ask for a custom size if needed, and I’ll make it for you.

Printed here in white PLA, but looks sharp in any filament. Works great in PETG or ASA too if you need something more rugged for outdoors.

How To:

  • Put a drop of super-glue into the magnet holes, and push the magnet in.  Make sure to let cure before testing !
  • Tolerances for magnets are built-in already at 0.1 mm extra diameter and 0.6 mm extra depth, so they should sit just below flush with the surface.

Files Included:

  • One 3MF and one STEP file for each magnet size.
  • Clean, support-free geometry—quick and easy to print.

Whether you’re posting your shopping list, scribbling a recipe tweak, or keeping pens in your gardening shed, PenNest keeps your go-to writing tools perched right where they should be.

Let me know if you’d like a variant for larger markers or a double-wide version—I’m happy to expand the nest set.
