If you are as disappointed as I am in the Buddy Cam 3D you are looking for alternatives.
Here's one that works for me - hopefully for you too. It's a tilted mount for a Wyze v4 cam. No surgery required on the camera - just unscrew and remove the foot. The mount sits on the top of the printer looking down through the smoked top panel - the shroud on the holder does a pretty reasonable job of cutting out the reflections. I've left mine unattached so I can move it freely to the best place depending on the print but usually best in the front left corner
The mount is a fairly loose fit - easy to get in and out to access the memory card slot.
I also added a cheap Ikea striplight (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/vattensten-led-light-strip-white-00530542/) inside the enclosure - the 39inch one goes around 3 of the 4 sides. Adds some extra light which really helps.
Turn off your IR lights on the camera and don't use the spotlight - as you can see in the 5th pic it gives a pretty decent image without reflections - this pic is with my internal ikea striplight turned on.
Welcome to colour images, time-lapse capability and real time video - ahem - are you listening Buddy Cam?
Mine is printed in PLA, 15% infill, no supports
