5.25" drive bay/slot GPU mounting adapter

My home server is based around an older Lian Li PC case, which has 4 unused 5.25" drive bays. I wanted to squeeze in a few more GPUs for LLM inference, and figured the RTX 3060s I'm using could probably fit into one of those bays.

Turns out yes, just about!

This mounting adapter should work for most shorter, 2 slot cards. Make sure you have room/clearance in your case to connect the power cable(s). The mount will probably work for 2.5, 3-slot cards as well if placed with a free 5.25" slot above. It seems common for GPUs nowadays to have a metal plate covering the PCB, which this mount is designed for since the GPU will be resting on it. If your GPU does not have such a plate, the screwholes for the gpu slot covers will probably not align perfectly.

I let common PC screws thread the plastic which worked out well. Use the smaller threaded screws for the mount itself (same type as is used with DVD drives), and the larger threaded PC screws for the GPU slot covers, as usual.

I have personally only tried a EVGA RTX 3060 in it. For this to work you will need a PCI-E riser with a pretty long cable!

Print without supports, strongly recommend PETG since GPUs get hot!
